I did say that we can expect to see more big movies budgeted at $100-150 million in the near future, and this seems to bear my prediction out. Will EON be able to restrain themselves from spending like drunken sailors on shore leave if Bond 26 ever happens?
I completely agree Kris, I think a restrained EON would work in the fandom's favor, having to concentrate on story and inventive filmmaking rather than just slapping a gazillion dollar veneer over the top of a maudlin "romance."

I think this however may be why they are dragging their feet on the next film, I imagine Amazon aren't playing as fast and loose with the purse strings as the previous MGM handlers have, so Babz et.al. are stamping their feet and sucking their thumbs until daddy Bezos gives them their cookie? Just one of many possibilities as to why they're so slow to get moving.
Given that most movies can hardly stumble past $400-500 million in today Bo.

Realistically they have to cut budgets, it was insane they (bond) were allowed to grow past $200 million. Close to $500 million with prints and advertising . Babs and Craig scooped up at a minimum $30 of production money just to start production. That’s 2002 numbers , when producers fees were last published. By nttd it was probably much more than that.

It maybe why Babs isn’t interested in make more movies, she probably feels she can did her heels in and hold her breath until Amazon agrees to pay her exorbitant fees from the golden era back in 2010. Cubby knew better, he knew when to fight and when to keep production going to keep the audience hooked.

I still feel that Amazon has the upper hand, if the only remake thunderball and casino royal or base a new series on those two book they own the rights to alone. Interesting that mcclory had a point a lot of what eon put in the bond series came from thunderball a property they had no rights to. But shopped the script around for the first bond move , then based the bond world on a lot of that script. If mcclory had a fair hearing without the weight of studio support for eon he might have won a huge settlement.

I think if Babs continues to drag her feet Amazon will go around her , she’ll sue them , then lose. If she’d play nice she pretty get what she wants from Amazon .

Recently the EON 007 website was promoting PENS! Now, it is this: Bond In Motion To Open At International Spy Museum: Special showcase exhibition at museum’s new location: Vehicle exhibition Bond in Motion is travelling to The International Spy Museum in Washington. Opening on March 1, 2024 at L’Enfant Plaza, Bond in Motion will feature 17 vehicles from the 007 film series, ranging from the Aston Martin DBS from Quantum of Solace (2008) to the Jaguar XKR from Die Another Day (2002). Other highlights include the submarine from For Your Eyes Only (1981) and the MR Glastron Boat from Moonraker (1979), offering a journey chronicling James Bond’s 60+ years of adventures.-------it looks like EON's lazy involvement in the franchise is now promoting writing essentials, reality shows, and expositions of the PAST movies! Some way for Bezos to run a franchise allowing this to happen. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=mZohl-sIDsE

I honestly think they just see Bond as a brand. Why bother going to all the effort of actually making movies when they can just make money flogging 007 aftershave or whatever?

I wholeheartedly agree, it's been this way for the past 30+ years, with special edition Bollinger bottles, Omega watches and 007 cologne. Just slap two 0's and a seven on any old tat, charge double and call it classy!

Which is OK when it's just a sideline, but not when it becomes a substitute for moviemaking.

Just seen an ad for Argylle, aka the closest thing we're likely to get to a Henry Cavill Bond film. Looks like it's out soon.

Cavill has remained a favorite to play Bond, despite the fact that he's now 40 and would have been in his early 20s the last time he came close to being cast. He's even spoken openly about what he would have done in the role, revealing his 007 would have been a mix of Sean Connery and Daniel Craig. Now starring as the titular sleuth in spy thriller "Argylle" from "Kingsman: The Secret Service" director Matthew Vaughn, Cavill still won't rule out playing 007. In a recent Total Film interview, the actor said his "Argylle" role is "a fun character," adding, "Whether I'm ruled out of Bond because of this or not is up to Barbara Broccoli and Mr. Wilson."

Now, about two-and-a-half years after No Time To Die's release in theaters, franchise producer Barbara Broccoli tells Deadline that James Bond 26 isn't experiencing a lot – or any – progress behind the scenes. The producer's latest updates seemingly confirms that the next installment in the franchise is still a number of years away!!! "No, there’s nothing I can tell you about the next Bond film. There’s nothing. Nothing is happening yet.” :hair: WHAT? WHAT? WHAT? Broccoli was speaking at a British Film Institute (BFI) Fellowship event when she was asked about where the future lies for the James Bond franchise and if there was any news about a potential reboot film.

She's just saying what Wilson pere and fils have already told us. But still the EON sycophants are trying to convince themselves that they can't possibly mean what they say, and that it's all some game of 11-dimensional chess. Meanwhile, on Twitter:

It was so subtlety done mere mortals would be hard pressed to perceive it. This guy's name is "James Bond Music" he no doubt spent a lifetime studying the dulcet tones from the films, so if anyone were to notice it surely it would be he!

That's what makes it so hilarious. If it was just some regular Joe Shmoe, you'd just assume they didn't know that much about Bond films. But for someone calling themselves James Bond Music....

Very sad. Younger fans will remember him from the Mandalorian , where his performance was so good they rewrote the role to a bigger part.
