Not to mention that both actors will be over 40 by the time a decision is made, and Babbzy specified that the next Bond will be in his 30s.

They probably won't need to by the time the next film finally starts shooting.

Depending on how long it takes Babs and co to get their s*** together, he may well age into the role. Still, if they can make Brad Pitt look like an old man…

You, yourself should know nothings going to happen right now as you so ably remind us Babz ain't doing nothing for at least another year. Remember; "it'll be at least 2 years before we cast a new lead," she said after the premiere of N,TTD. Second of all this is just the latest in an incessant string of "hot scoops" these 3rd tier rags throw out to garner clicks, there is absolutely no certainty this guy will get the role or is even in contention. And finally the fella is fair to midland at worse, sure he's a bit "fresh faced" but, there are far more inferior picks out there than better. Honestly who would you rather see in the role? Before you answer remember Cavill is out, far too expensive, famous and busy and Turner pulled himself out of the running. I've got a feeling whomever they do actually pick is going to have you wishing this rumor were true. What concerns me more is the choice for director and what direction they take the series. I'm far more interested in the next actor's attitude toward Bond than their appearance.
Director DB? Look no further than his own mother-wife getting the job from Broccoli as a sick possibility. "SAM", (Samantha) as she is known, has all of the required body of work necessary to direct a Bond film with Broccoli in charge:
2009 Nowhere Boy
2017 Gypsy 2 episodes; also executive producer
2021 Solos 2 episodes; also executive producer
2018 A Million Little Pieces Also co-writer
2024 Back To Black Lead director
2015 Fifty Shades of Grey Nominated – Golden Raspberry Award for Worst Director
2006 Destricted Segment "Death Valley"; also writer
2008 Love You More Short film

Oh yeah, that's right she did direct the 50 shades movie! That's why Babz likes her toy boy so much! If the rumor is true. Seriously though BJ do you really expect a return to form? Again if this guy is cast he's not the biggest worry, it's the direction they take the series, which I'm sure will be crap. I can be bothered to fuss over it any more.

They need to bring some energy back to the series. Cubby always said that 2 hours was long enough for a Bond film, a dictum that has been forgotten for most of Craig's films (with the exception of QOS, which nevertheless felt like it was well over 2 hours long).

Shorter films allow for a narrative drive and innovative story telling, while longer films allow for unnecessary indulgences. A recent case in point, NTTD could easily have sacrificed the entire 2nd act and still told the story they wanted.

In a different milieu, the recent television show "The Patient", shows how shorter episodes (most were 30 minutes) can actually be more effective in building suspense and establishing nuanced characters.

At an hour and 50 minutes Goldfinger set the template for 3 decades of Bond films. The producers and directors should look to that film, and the the bloated ones of the recent iteration for their inspiration.

The Sun (a fairly disreputable tabloid that you wouldn't trust for hard news, but which nevertheless has a pretty good track record when it comes to entertainment stories) is reporting that ATJ has already shot his gunbarrel scene, and that the official announcement will be made in March. Again, I'll believe it if and when it actually happens, but if it turns out to be someone else...I was going to say that there would be some entertainment journalists with egg on their faces, but that assumes such people are capable of shame. Like economists, theirs is a job where you can be wrong time and time again without suffering any consequences. Most people have the memory of a goldfish, and will already have forgotten the stories that Tom Hardy was officially cast as Bond before NTTD had even been released.

Highstreet bookmaker William Hill has placed odds over him becoming the new James Bond at 4/5. “Bosses at the brand were really impressed with his unique blend of acting intensity and his impressive back catalogue of action films.” Image This guy looks like a childish punk but it looks more and more like Broccoli has decided on the next rotten choice for Bond. Now she will surround him with a 'woke' cast and maybe a female Q who emasculates him on a daily basis.

I'm not. Three things are certain in life: death, taxes, and that whoever get picked to be the next Bond, BJ will be furious about it.

Not true. Turner, Cavill, or a similar type would be fine. 17 years of a porcupine and maybe now a college freshman as the choice? Broccoli will pay him peanuts most likely to start.

Cavill was 22 when they turned him down for Casino Royale, and look what we got instead. Even though some parts of the film were obviously written for a much younger actor (why was a 38-year-old man with a face like an unironed shirt mistaken for a parking valet?)

“Avatar: The Way of Water” has an imposing task on its hands. When the James Cameron sci-fi epic is released on December 16, it will need to make more than $2 billion at the global box office, just to break even. That ’s according to Cameron himself, who told GQ for a story published this week that the movie is “very f–king” expensive and possibly represented “the worst business case in movie history.” .............What studio would get involved in such a ridiculous return on their investment starting next weekend? Does CGI cost that much?

It's not looking good, but I'm hesitant to write off Cameron. Everyone said that Titanic and the first Avatar would flop, and they went on to become two of the biggest-grossing movies of all time.

I've posted at least one photo of him clean-shaven, so hopefully that's the look they'll go with. If the stories are even true, that is.

Seems Henry Cavill won't be returning as Superman after all. That has to increase his chances of becoming Bond, though I'm still not getting my hopes up:

Just three weeks after announcing he was “back as Superman,” Henry Cavill has been forced to reveal that he won’t be playing the character in the future after all. Instead, the Man of Steel will be rebooted in a new movie being written by DC Studios co-chief James Gunn, featuring the iconic superhero as a younger man. Gunn announced on Twitter that he and his producing partner Peter Safran will be announcing the first projects in their new slate of DC productions at the beginning of 2023. “Among those on the slate is Superman. In the initial stages, our story will be focusing on an earlier part of Superman’s life, so the character will not be played by Henry Cavill,” Gunn said.

Henry Cavill to star in Warhammer 40K adaptation for Amazon. Well, I suppose it's good news that he has a connection to Amazon, but I still don't think he's going to be Bond. He's a bona fide movie star at this point, and EON tends to either cast unknowns or people familiar from TV.
