The Batman movie.........another reboot.......this time, Matt Reeves, the director said: The Batman Movie Will Explore the "Soul" of Bruce Wayne........has Hollywood gone nuts?! Do they think the majority of the public wants to delve into such background issues? Meet your new Riddler: Image

No idea about Rotten Tom's. But BS is BS.

I dont think Aiden is the guy either, poldark/being human/the raphelties thing hes already too many other things Frankly they did it with Sean Connery , Harrison Ford, Christopher Reed, Hugh Grant , Russell Crow , there are millions of great relativley unknown ( to the general public) great character actors out there, ready for their big break . Producers need to do some work, take a risk, and find the right guy. Someone relatively unknown , no baggage.

That could work out very well, provided they know what makes a great Bond actor and actually apply that knowledge to make the choice. Cubby seems to have been amazingly good at this.

I think Aidan Turner is at roughly the same level of fame that Roger and Pierce were when they took over - known from TV, and from the Hobbit trilogy, but not a megastar.

38 years ago this week NSNA was released on October 7th, 1983. This was the Connery interview on the Tonight Show. Notice that when he was asked who the first Bond villain was, Connery answered------------"CUBBY BROCCOLI ". A few seconds later he said "JUST KIDDING", and Carson said, "NO YOU'RE NOT". You can see where Connery's mindset was in 1983. He also said later on that he was terrified to do the underwater scenes in NSNA. This week Malek will be on Jimmy Kimmel Tuesday night here in the USA and Cr-egg will be on Kimmel Wednesday night, and Ana de Armas will be on Jimmy Fallon's Tonight show on Friday. Malek will host Saturday Night Live in 2 weeks as well.

They talked about that in the documentary Everything Or Nothing. Apparently, Cubby was really hurt by that remark, though they reconciled later.

Well Connery sued them (eon) twice . He’d later say they were their own greatest villains , probably several times.
When he met pierce brosnan in passing he asked pierce if they were paying brosnan enough

Until never say never again supposedly cubby sent a copy of every script to Connery before production begins.

So there was a lot of bad blood culminating in never say never again.

Funny how Babs went to Connery to bless Craig in the role after there was push back by fans, Sony even did that lifetime achievement award ceremony for connery where Craig had a much rehearsed 30 second on screen performance using big words he never heard of before.
I doubt connery cared either way, for him bond was a sore spot where he felt he was poorly used by cubby and saltzman, as many of the early directors and writers and staff were.

But connery was also one of the best paid I think even withstanding Craigs lavish paydays, someone had the percentages connery made off the gross bo and not counting the product Tie-ins of 25%. 1960s-70s money was huge. DAF connery got 1.25 million as salary (plus a promise of two non bond films) that’s 7 million just in inflation. He gave that salary away to charity but got a percentage of us box office
Far as ticket sales and money the movies made connery and Moore still are tops although Moore was always way under paid

My opinion has deteriorated even further now. I think its the worst of the Craig era. Babs was so obsessed in giving us the emotional Bond, now with a child to support too, that it is far removed from the franchise it once was. Horrendous.

The film is so bad, it has put me off the Craig era entirely. I can now see his set of films for what they are. Self indulgent, thespian fantasy for Craig and Babs, at the expense of Fleming and her father. We need new producers in.
Last time I looked, it was October not April 🤔

My youngest daughter (aged 10) wants to go to the cinema to watch NTTD. She's yet to watch any Bond film (need to find the box sets in the loft). I've told her that her Bond journey starts with Dr No and may well end before Casino Royale.

My 11-year-old niece wants to see it too, but only because she likes Billie Eilish. Choosing her was a wise move, from a purely commercial point of view.

Definitely makes commercial sense, although neither of my daughters are overly fussed about her.

Cr-egg was on Good Morning America this morning. He had little to say as usual and basically sat there and answered a few questions in a few words and giggled a lot. Useless ambassador.

A close friend of mine went to see NTTD last night. For his sins, he's a fan of Cragg. He felt underwhelmed by the experience. Worse than QOS was his comment this morning.

That takes some doing!!

He's now decided to watch the back catalogue as previously, he'd only seen Brosnan and Cragg. Sure his perception will change on who he considers to be the best Bond.
