Happy Easter!

I thought Passover seemed to be more real to people this year. Not to make light of the current situation, I don’t think people thought about it more than as a story around Easter time.

One of the benefits of being Orthodox is getting discounted Easter chocolate when it goes on sale from tomorrow.

Weird not to have mom pushing us all going to the Easter Sunday services

I can’t tell how bad covid19 actually is or why it’s symptoms are all over the map. I’ve talked with some people fairly confident they had it back in February before there was any testing or awareness.

What I do think will happen is those of us deemed essential who work the front lines of retail with no protection like gloves or masks, hazard pay , or anything like a thank you, is there will be lawsuits , and it will change corporations and business structures. I think employee rights are about to change and in a way that doesn’t benefit major corporations for the first time in my lifetime.

I was preview managers conference call talking about how Walmart and other retailers are being sued by families of otherwise healthy people who died, brought covid home to loved ones who died, or just got sick from covid. Right now it is scaring to top brass where I work, we get nothing but are expected to be open for retail customers who are not supposed to be out for nonessential stuff like they are buying from us. We do supply agricultural and construction and other infrastructure stuff that could be critical but the walk-in customers we actually could shut down for.

May 1 changes it all hopefully-------when this scourge is eradicated the entire planet should have ONE huge party to celebrate the survivors of this Chinese irresponsible bat driven plague on humanity :!: Hopefully this is a one shot deal like the H1N1 flu 10 years ago. How long a person stays infected is the key. If it lingers in a human body, that is a problem. If it runs its course and ends, that would be the optimum result. I think 85% of the PLANET has now been exposed to it and nature will hopefully cause human immunity to destroy this virus permanently. China MUST suffer because of this :!: :cuss: This supposedly started in a bat cave 600 miles from Wuhan by a researcher of these creatures who brought it back to the laboratories near the wet markets. The wet markets were a Chinese cover for what really happened. Sick people :!: Image

Fifteen years ago, scientists discovered a cave in southern China that held viruses almost identical to the one that has killed people today and the ones that caused the SARS and MERS outbreaks decades ago.The cave, whose exact location is being kept secret, is inhabited by wild bats that have been found to carry a “rich gene pool of SARS-related coronaviruses,” said Peter Daszak, the president of EcoHealth Alliance, a U.S. nonprofit organization that monitors wildlife diseases that could pose a pandemic risk. Daszak said that one of the 500 or so virus strains discovered in 2004 is 96 per cent similar to the novel coronavirus that has infected and killed people since the outbreak began in December. “What we’re saying is that this cluster of viruses is a high risk,” Daszak said.

Screenrant.com: 'After James Bond became the longest-running and most successful movie franchise in history, there was no reason for Eon Productions to adapt Casino Royale, the first 007 story. From Connery's retirement to George Lazenby's one-and-done, Roger Moore's 7-film stint, Timothy Dalton's double-shot, and Pierce Brosnan's final four Bond movies, the 007 franchise always kept Bond's story moving forward. So it was serendipity that Eon gained the rights of Casino Royale in the 2000s when it came time to forge a "new James Bond continuity". Daniel Craig got to depict James Bond's origin story to kick off his 007 saga while Casino Royale simply never happened in the history of his predecessors' versions of James Bond.'--------and that is what ruined the franchise to a lot of people :!:

Well at least they're admitting it now, no more of the "beginning of the same old James Bond we know and love" BS.

Holy crap! It’s the truth! We all knew the reboot was the intellectual bankruptcy of EON under the helm of Babs and mgw, but it’s nice to read it else where.

I also think the series from Connery to Brosnan will have more staying power in pop culture and the Craig era will exist in its own small bubble outside the main body of bond movies. There is no way to reconcile Ian Fleming bond and Babs/Craig’s, or Fleming/Cubby/Saltzman’s bond.

FYI, the ultimate James Bond collection is available on VUDU for $100, we bought the UHD 4K version. Unfortunately it also includes the Craig movies.

Tried buying masks on eBay MP. It was fraud. Reported it to my credit card company---------The fight against the coronavirus pandemic is entering a new phase. More and more of the world's biggest economies are taking tentative steps to restart vital industries and allow some people to return to work. Chancellor Angela Merkel on Wednesday said Germany would gradually ease some restrictions on business starting next week, and Volkswagen announced a phased reopening of its European plants. Spain, Italy, Austria, Denmark and the Czech Republic are also lifting some lockdown measures. In Asia, where the pandemic originated, China and South Korea continue to ease restrictions on public life and work.-----------Dow Jones will be at 30,000 in November for the election here, unless some rebirth of this corona takes hold, which hopefully never recurs.

Our government has given 5 conditions for ending the lockdown. I can't rattle off the list from memory, but basically they want to be satisfied that it's under control and that there's no danger of a second wave overwhelming the hospitals again.

Meanwhile, getting back on topic, here's news of a Goldeneye watchalong with Pierce himself: https://www.esquire.com/uk/culture/film ... atchalong/

Anyone still in touch with FBF? I bet he'd love that.

I can't wait for 2030 when we get the 25th anniversary watchalong for Casino Royale with Craig!

Craig-head: Dear Mr. Craig the light of my life, the greatest most Bondian of them all, could you please tell us what it was like working with Eva Greene in this particular scene?

Craig: Piss off!
