Another point about the delay, mgm might find amazon or apple wanting to buy with a “blockbuster” direct to video

I cannot believe we have to wait this extended time for Cr-egg to leave :!:  The film was hyped now------it will be on the shelf now for 8 long months-------it will be 5 long years since the last film-----can they re-hype it at Thanksgiving, which by the way will be a thanks-for-giving us the end of the Cr-egg era :!: How can EON keep any enthusiasm going for this now?

I'm not sure about the plot of the movie. But I did read that the story involves biological weapons (and bizarrely Dr No). Did Eon think this would be in poor taste?

Or maybe the movie is a rushed mess as per usual , and they took the chance for some more time to edit it. They could reshoot some extra scenes of lemon faced Craig getting out of a car in a tight suit and big sungalsses.

Can't find the link again now, but I did see an interview with Rami Malek where he refused to shoot down the Dr No rumours. But it was phrased in quite an ambiguous way, so it could be a bluff. It was the first story I'd seen where I actually thought the rumours might be true, though. Previous stories were all like "It has the word No in the title! What other explanation could there be?"

Cr-egg will still host SNL this weekend which will be rendered useless now for EON.

Mashable.com: The plot might have something to do with biological warfare. So, here’s where we get a little Sherlock. This is all based on some of the props we were allowed to have a gander at, so hear me out. Props designer Ben Wilkinson showed us what appears to be a container for toxin vials within a keyboard-clad suitcase, with hundreds of the vials to be later used in the film. We also got a look at some kind of magnetic bomb, covered in the vials. Just saying, we could be looking at a massive biological threat here, unless this is a red herring. We did spy some SPECTRE rings though...

If it were that on point far as the story I think they would run with it, IMHO they were not confident about the date and hope the November date will help the movie preform like normal for them.

The mi6 postponement story was probably a plant by eon to help get their rabid fanboys on board, no way this change was not already in the works when the mi6 toady was inspired to write it.
Without China they be at lest $100 million lighter at the bo, possibly hundreds of millions with most of Asia avoiding sitting in theaters.

The thanksgiving release can help because the next weekend is dead far as new releases, still it’s crowded spot they weren’t trying to be in. They usually get more room between potential competition

I still kind of think mgm does better trying to position themselves for a sale with potential movie vs reality, I also think amazon and apple would like to grab a bond series exclusive for their service

I was looking at a film website and in the comments someone said that the new release date in november might be a mistake because it will clash with The Eternals and Kong v Godzilla. By the way, a poster in the comments said they thought Skyfall was awful and someone responded by saying something sarcastic along the lines of 'I suppose you prefer double-taking pigeons'. These Craig fanatics need some new material.

Yesterday's Metro newspaper had a story that Craig might make a sixth Bond film. I died inside a little, but it turned out to just be some unnamed insider going "well, you never know". Nothing to see here.

Cr-egg was awful on SNL. He has no charisma and he forces his non-comedic talent. He said NTTD will be his last Bond film-----no audience response-----silence----maybe he thought there would be pushback from the live crowd about that but nothing. The Bond skit he did was a joke. Cr-egg is a microcosm of what is wrong with society. He has no acting talent yet audiences tolerate him to watch a Bond film. It is no wonder why the yearly awards show are in constant yearly decline in viewing.

He was really bad the last time he hosted too. I didn’t watch any of the clips from last night . I can believe the audience wasn’t worried about him retiring from bond, only Babs and people in her bubble are worried, the audience has been ready for years for a new bond.
I think the question is going to be do we need a “James Bond” or whatever babs will package next (007?) , with plenty of movie series keeping the audience engaged for 3 or more movies, I’m not sure the half assed attempt eon makes twice a decade is needed. Ironman only became a success because the director and Robert Downey Jr. saw the absence of what bond used to be as a opening to make their own take on it with Ironman. Other movies also saw the opportunity eon left behind, nothing is quite what James Bond used to be but neither is eons bond.

I do think with a good director and good cast they can recapture the excitement bond used to be to people, if they continue once every 4-5 year schedule with crap story telling depending on the drama of “this is happening to James Bond” bring the driving factor I think they will have to retire the series and bring it back in another decade.
Craig had “this is not bond but it’s how he became bond0 for at least 2 movies with two more trying to add family drama where none should exist and rewrite the meaning behind previous movie each new movie.
I’m not sure the audience is actually on the edge of their seats waiting for what happens next.

They did a Casino Royale-ish sketch. *that*’s what they’re going with?Oh-Kay.

And now it’s not coming out till November..but in their infinite wisdom the SNL producers decided to let him host anyways. There’s the obvious comment
Spoiler
That he should host again in November
. How about NO.

His opening monologue came up as a recommendation when I went into YouTube earlier today, But I couldn't bring myself to watch it (and I don't really have a problem with the guy, I just don't buy him as Bond).

I was talking about the move to November I was surprised a few people thought it was a bad idea, I thought it was better than what they had because it’s closer that what they normally go with far a release date, thanksgiving is week where families often just go to the pg13 action movie or because it’s bond, two weekends with no new movies since the 25th of nov.
But some thought it was crowded, it’s too long a movie time, and if bond didn’t get the 3000-4000 screens and flood the market with showtimes there might be real competition.
I’m not sure what’s coming out nov-dec but I don’t think there are any bond killers, unless I’m wrong about the Disney animated movie and the eternals, Godzilla vs Kong,

Now in December the new Dune might be worth it, but it’s not exactly fresh, but it was basically what George Lucas ripped off to creat a new hope, so legitimate sci-fi. I liked the tv series for 2000 and didn’t like David Lynch’s version. I don’t know if the new version will be the definitive one like Peter Jackson’s Lotr was for that series

He will try to milk it, but SNL didn’t get ratings bump from Craig last time, not sure about last night, they say it dropped in certain age group but was up slightly in households.
By November it’s going to be after the election and right before thanksgiving l, so reruns and fresher actors promoting their movies.

Honestly I am amazed how much detail is in Dune. I don’t see how it is not a trilogy just for the first story.

Typically bizarre Craig interview - a classic of the genre.

https://www.mirror.co.uk/3am/celebrity- ... r-21659543

He said he was anxious and that he wondered if it was worth going through making a Bond movie again. That is why it has been 5 years.

We know he is back for the money, and if he was delaying...EON CAST ANOTHER ACTOR!
