IDK when some here became such contrarians…”Craig set the bar low”..well, with ATJ we could do the limbo.

Re: The BJMDDS General Discussion Thread......
I'm afraid I'm with Kris on this one. As Kris says the bar is pretty low, so low in fact I'll just be happy if they cast a human and not some fruitcake who thinks they're a firetruck! Babz has stated she's looking for someone in their 30's, in Hollywood that means ether someone's who appears aged well beyond their years (ala Craig in '06), or a twinkly pretty boy who looks like he's wondered in from day care. Call me a pessimist or what the kids these days refer to as a "black pill," but the days of the "classic Bond" are behind us, done, dusted, dead on arrival. I've got a feeling come this next era of "Bond" we'll be pining away for the good old days of Spectre, best case scenario we get Casino Royale 2.0 (a decent generic action movie with little to no "Bond" in it). You can forget about ever seeing another Goldfinger, The Spy Who Loved Me or Goldeneye ever again.

Re: The BJMDDS General Discussion Thread......
All I really care about is what happens on screen. Red carpet premieres are one-off event that matter for a single news cycle before attention shifts to the film itself. *If* ATJ turned out to be a good Bond (and again, all I have to go on is a single photo, nothing I've seen him in gives any indication of how he would play Bond), then any red carpet appearances would be, at worst, a temporary embarrassment.bjmdds wrote:Nobody will ban MP. To be Bond you need to be an ambassador at the worldwide public premieres. Seeing him with a woman almost twice his age arm and arm at premieres would NOT be a plus to the promotion of the film. It would look like he needed an adult to accompany him into an R rated film.

Re: The BJMDDS General Discussion Thread......
I agree with Kristatos. This fella would be an upgrade on Craig when it comes to the Bond image. He even has black hair! All they have to do is get rid of the facial fuzz and give him an appropriate haircut. I saw on him a chat show (Colbert?) and he was funny and down to earth. I can't comment on his acting much because I've only seen him in Kick Ass and Avengers but he's very well regarded and has done a lot of stage work. He's about the same level of fame that Craig was in 2005 so it makes sense that he's the sort of person they'd be looking at.

Re: The BJMDDS General Discussion Thread......
He does look youthful in that photo, but if it's another 15-year contract, he would be pushing 50 by the time he makes his last Bond film. Better a young-looking 48-year-old than a walking corpse like Craig.

The crazy thing is that Broccoli won't even decide until who knows when, in what year, or decade, as Cr-egg's tenure stretches further on into oblivion.
Re: The BJMDDS General Discussion Thread......
Yeah, that's why I'm taking these reports with a pinch of salt. I do believe he's in consideration, but this talk of it being a done deal seems premature.

At this rate the "30i year old" Babz is going to hire hasn't even been born yet.

I'll have to wait until the Radio Times comes out to confirm, but I just read on another forum that NTTD is getting its terrestrial UK TV premiere on New Year's Day. Wasn't expecting that so soon.

Re: The BJMDDS General Discussion Thread......
Instagram page, Deuxmoi -- one of Instagram's most popular sources of celebrity news -- speculated the news recently as it stated that an anonymous source told the platform that "Aaron Taylor-Johnson will be the next Bond," and that a "mini-trailer of him doing the famous Bond shot is going to be released in March/April 2023 to announce him as the new actor." Although this news hasn't confirmed anything for the James Bond franchise, only time will tell as to whether Taylor-Johnson really does take his martini shaken, and not stirred..........'Euronews Culture did a bit of digging ourselves and corroborating these rumours are our very own industry insiders, who have confirmed that Taylor-Johnson has indeed been screen-tested for the role and that he’s the one to beat in the eyes of Bond producers Barbara Broccoli and Michael J Wilson'.......looks like a done deal-----too much buzz not to be seriously true.

I'll believe it when "the bookies" chime in! They're the real authorities!

Haha. But seriously, I'm sure we can all think of stories like this in the past that later turned out to be wrong. As far as I'm concerned, it's not a done deal until the official announcement is made.dirtybenny wrote:I'll believe it when "the bookies" chime in! They're the real authorities!

Re: The BJMDDS General Discussion Thread......
Lazenby was 29 when he was Bond, yet he looked 35-ish. This kid A-T-J (A TOTAL JOKE) looks like a freshman starting college so look for a real PREQUEL first film with Bond joining the armed forces and proceeding from their how his experiences drove him into MI6.
Re: The BJMDDS General Discussion Thread......
That's my only real objection to him too, but it's a temporary one. He won't stay looking that young forever.bjmdds wrote: This kid A-T-J (A TOTAL JOKE) looks like a freshman starting college.

Re: The BJMDDS General Discussion Thread......
I'm a little surprised at you BJ, freaking out about this guy so hard. You, yourself should know nothings going to happen right now as you so ably remind us Babz ain't doing nothing for at least another year. Remember; "it'll be at least 2 years before we cast a new lead," she said after the premiere of N,TTD. Second of all this is just the latest in an incessant string of "hot scoops" these 3rd tier rags throw out to garner clicks, there is absolutely no certainty this guy will get the role or is even in contention. And finally the fella is fair to midland at worse, sure he's a bit "fresh faced" but, there are far more inferior picks out there than better. Honestly who would you rather see in the role? Before you answer remember Cavill is out, far too expensive, famous and busy and Turner pulled himself out of the running. I've got a feeling whomever they do actually pick is going to have you wishing this rumor were true. What concerns me more is the choice for director and what direction they take the series. I'm far more interested in the next actor's attitude toward Bond than their appearance.

I'm not. Three things are certain in life: death, taxes, and that whoever get picked to be the next Bond, BJ will be furious about it.dirtybenny wrote:I'm a little surprised at you BJ, freaking out about this guy so hard.
