Hope the Americans had a nice Thanksgiving.
Are you having a punch up over bargains in the shops today on Black Friday? I heard Dirtybenny and FormerBond were fighting over that last reduced blu ray copy of Some Voices.

Florence Henderson, the wholesome actress who went from Broadway star to television icon when she became Carol Brady, the ever-cheerful matriarch of "The Brady Bunch," has died, her manager and her publicist said. She was 82. Henderson died Thursday night at Cedars-Sinai Medical Center in Los Angeles, after being hospitalized the day before, said her publicist, David Brokaw. Henderson had suffered heart failure, her manager Kayla Pressman said in a statement. Family and friends had surrounded Henderson's hospital bedside, Pressman said.

Re: The BJMDDS General Discussion Thread......
Fans of James Bond are eagerly waiting for the announcement that will reveal the actor who will bring alive the popular spy on screen. However, it seems like Aidan Turner is the unanimous choice and would most likely replace Daniel Craig in the next 'Bond' movie.
Aidan Turner is being touted as the would-be Bond and he has got many supporters who see him as the perfect fit for the iconic role, reports The Bitbag. Roger Moore, who has essayed the role of the detective seven times in the past, has said that Turner would make a very good Bond. 'Poldark' actor Robin Ellis has also given him his blessing too.
Ellis stated that Turner is quite capable of taking the role as he has got the looks and brooding presence to justify the character. Notably, Aidan Turner has been in news for a while for being the hot favorite to play James Bond in the next movie. Though he has denied the rumors consistently, he seems to be the top choice and has received endorsements from multiple quarters.
Still, until an official announcement is made, everything should be taken with a pinch of salt. As for Daniel Craig, the current Bond who has starred in four installments namely 'Skyfall', 'Spectre,' 'Quantum of Solace,' and 'Casino Royale,' he has not stood down yet. The production family loves him and has said that Craig is still their first choice.

What is this quoted from?

I'm not familiar with the site, but it just looks like a rehash of earlier stories, filled with vague references like "[Turner] has received endorsements from multiple quarters."

Re: The BJMDDS General Discussion Thread......
Fantastic Beasts film earned a whopping $11.3m in its first day in China on Friday, which mean the film has probably already crossed $300m worldwide not even counting whatever it did in Japan. FBF, Fantastic Beasts and Where to Find Them held its ground yesterday, earning a solid $9.5 million. That gives the J.K. Rowling prequel a $111.128m first week at the domestic box office. And the 12% drop from Wednesday is right alongside the 12.2% drop for Harry Potter and the Goblet of Fire, which is good news. That’s not only lower than the 20% Thanksgiving drop for The Deathly Hallows part I but a lot lower than the three “opened in Nov. Hunger Games” sequels (28%, 24% and 24%) and the “opened in Nov. Twilight offerings (-34%, -35%, -37% and -37%). The $111m seven-day cume is dead even with the $111.9m (in 2D and back in 2008) week-long cume for the first Twilight.

The latest edition of the BBFC podcast discusses the UK rating history of Diamonds Are Forever. I haven't had a chance to listen to it yet, but I thought I'd post it in case anyone was interested.

FBF: Fantastic Beasts and Where to Find Them more-than-held its own against Walt Disney’s Moana on Black Friday. The J.K. Rowling prequel earned a fine $18.5 million, dropping 37% from last Friday and bringing its domestic cume to $129.678m over its first eight days. For reference, that’s a better second Friday drop than any Harry Potter film save The Sorcerer’s Stone and a better second Friday hold than all the Hunger Games sequels and Twilight Saga entries.
At this juncture, we’re looking at a terrific $44 million (-40%) Fri-Sun frame and $65m Wed-Sun holiday haul, bringing its ten-day total to $155m. Oh, and it crossed $200m overseas today for a $227m foreign cume, including $8m in Japan and $29m in the UK. The $180m-budgeted Warner Bros./Time Warner Inc. release has now earned $356.7m worldwide.

Just popped in to say Happy 10th Anniversary for CASINO ROYALE.
The site may have been utterly wrong about CR becoming a flop and rejected by audiences and fans, but the site is still here, so that's something. Cheers.

Re: The BJMDDS General Discussion Thread......
FBF: In second position for the weekend is WB's Fantastic Beasts and Where to Find Them, which delivered an excellent $45.1 million three-day and a $65.76 million five-day performance bringing the film's domestic cume to an estimated $156.2 million after ten days in release. Additionally, the film added $132 million internationally this weekend, fueled by openings in China and Japan where it brought in an estimated $41.1 million and $15.5 million respectively. The film's global cume now stands at $473.7 million ranking thirteenth among all of 2016 releases. The three-day opening in China surpasses the lifetime grosses of all other films in J.K. Rowling's Wizarding World franchise in that territory outside of Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows - Part 2 ($60.8m).

Pierce should look younger, without beards, in his new films. The Fantastic Beasts sequel is scheduled for November 16, 2018
Spoiler
Director David Yates confirmed the headmaster of Hogwarts is going to appear in the Fantastic Beasts and Where to Find Them sequel. Expected to return are Eddie Redmayne as Newt Scamander, Katherine Waterston as Tina, Alison Sudol as Queenie and Dan Fogler as Jacob.

I don't regularly visit Bond forums anymore. Since the olde Keeping the British End Up was nuked, it hasn't really been the same. Bond and Beyond came close, but that fizzled out. I've given nuMI6 a shot when SPECTRE was abound, but I wasn't feeling it there.bjmdds wrote:It certainly does Stocks! Been AWOL and still at the 'other' sites?

I guessTHIS site has the endurance to do battle against EON's creation in perpetuity! Stop by more often. What films have you been enjoying these days? Fantastic Beasts? Star Wars? Star Trek? etc.

Re: The BJMDDS General Discussion Thread......
Some gossip on reddit.
I know people in London who work in the film industry. I was at a function the other day and heard a few things which back up comments I've been hearing.
A treatment by Purvis & Wade, and Steven Knight has been thrown out.
EON are meeting directors but only on a speculatively basis. Numerous people have gone in, despite previous commitments. Eg; I know for fact that Colin Trevorrow met with EON in the last few weeks (despite being tied up till 2019 on Star Wars).
Sam Mendes apparently has an "idea" for Bond 25. It's something that has the backing of Daniel Craig.
I presume Mendes is working with Jez Butterworth on the "idea" (this is a guess by me as I know they're doing a play together next year).
I've heard the agreement is Mendes and Craig will develop the idea and if it comes together they'll return. If they can't get it to work, they will leave as planned.
No word on release date. But considering the original script as been abandoned and Mendes is working from scratch, it would seem that 2019 is most likely. Mendes will shoot Beautiful Ruins first in August next year.
