Why? It was trying to copy the Bourne films that led to the ruination of Bond in the first place. If this one underperforms, the rationale for the reboot (that Bourne represents the future of the spy thriller) goes out of the window.

You're talking worldwide, right? So far, we have 9 films gross higher than QOS in the US, and 8 of them passed the $200 million mark.

Bourne 4 could be interesting because it is a movie we haven't seen before from the looks of it. Now why Batman and Bourne turned Bond on it's head is a great question because it shouldn't have.

Although they issued a statement saying the promotion tour will go on as scheduled, a source tells HollywoodLife.com EXCLUSIVELY that behind-the-scenes, Summit is extremely worried. They expect the news that Kristen Stewart cheated on Robert Pattinson to be fresh in everyone’s mind, even though it will be months after the scandalous photos were first released on July 24.
“Summit is very scared with how things will turn out. They are certainly putting on a strong face,” our source tells HollywoodLife.com EXCLUSIVELY.
“They are very scared on how the fans will react and if they will have great box office. They expect all the fans will see it once and not come back for repeat performances,” our source continues.
The cast has been ordered to stay silent and not answer any questions about the affair during promotions of the movie.

Kristen Stewart and Robert Pattinson will be forced to put the past behind them as promotion for the final "Twilight" film is moving "full steam ahead," according to the studio. The president of worldwide marketing for Summit Entertainment, Nancy Kirkpartrick, told Entertainment Weekly, "While it is studio policy not to comment of the personal lives of actors, Summit is moving full steam ahead and looking forward to this November's opening of 'The Twilight Saga: Breaking Dawn - Part 2.' We are confident that the film delivers amazing entertainment for our passionate fans and general audience alike."FormerBondFan wrote:bjmdds wrote:Summit Entertainment, the studio behind ‘Twilight’ is freaking out about Kristen Stewart’s cheating scandal, worried that it will affect cast promotions and box office numbers.

Now I'm worried. First we got Harry's 6th adventure delayed 4 years ago. Now this? I might not be a total fan of these vampires, but I want this finale to go out with bang....at least for the sake of annihilating Bond 23.
So Eon gets ONE weekend to gloat........then be annihilated...........FormerBondFan wrote:Anna Karenina is now pushed back to to November 16. At least, we still have Lincoln, and I wouldn't be surprised if it's rated R.

Deadline has it unless TR is a smash overseas no way is Sony making a dime on this.
Sony hasn't had a good year if they have to count the movie they made money on. MIB 3 one place had as Ale said a low ball number of "687.2M" to break even, it made $619,282,611 as of today. At least TR cost $125 + P&R.
Spiderman is another straddling the make money don't make money fence, being the most popular comic book character at marvel should count for more.
