Mads Mikkelsen is going to be playing Hannibal Lecter on a TV series airing as a midseason replacement on NBC(the sort of stuff they put on when everything else they thought was going to be a big hit fails)Judging by most of NBC's offerings, I wonder if it'll be sooner than that.

Where's FBF now? "With the choice of Mendes, Broccoli and Wilson follow the successful path of the Harry Potter movies. They're investing in auteurship — allowing a director with a vision to use the mythology of Bond as a starting point, but never folding to the demands and expectations of modern blockbusters. That's where Quantum of Solace and many of the late Pierce Brosnan-era Bonds went wrong. Quantum felt like a riff on the Bourne movies, swapping out Matt Damon for the new-and-improved James Bond. Skyfall doesn't overtly imitate anything, even the successful Daniel Craig reboot Casino Royale, of which Mendes is a huge fan. Like the jump between Chamber of Secrets and Prisoner of Azkaban, or even the radical departure in aesthetics director David Yates made when he took over the series with Order of the Phoenix, Mendes 007 spy adventure feels like a stand alone, even while carrying over Craig as Bond, Judi Dench as M and other signature elements of the series. The Potter/Skyfall comparison is even more apt thanks to the outright British-ness on display in the trailer. That was one of Mendes' goals — make his movie feel better connected to the source material's home country. It's there, with rainy landscapes and a grit that previously helped ground the Potter movies in a necessary reality. The work of legendary cinematographer Roger Deakins (Road to Perdition and most of the Coen Bros. films of the past decade and a half) transforms Skyfall into an unexpected visual feast. The take should only help to integrate the film's big action scenes in a dramatic and realistic way. We get only a glimpse of the epic opening in Istanbal, but the push in the trailer is mood, intensity and character — an aspect severely lacking from Quantum. The eight films comprising the Harry Potter franchise were all about risks, and 007 finally seems to be following suit. There's no one right way to make a James Bond movie. Skyfall is an exciting new departure." http://whtc.com/news/articles/2012/jun/ ... rom-harry/ Blasphemous FBF comparing Potter to this drivel :!:

I'm not apologizing, I have nothing against Craig and have even liked him in a couple of flicks, the chick with the tattoo, redemption and maybe a couple of others but thats about it. He is no James Bond, for one thing he's too ugly, not that I go that way but he just isn't. He has no personality, he looks like he's starving and unkept and un-clean sorry thats just the way I see it. Bond should be suave and debonaire, he should dress well and look immaculate, not to mention pleasing to look at, not that I go that way. Bond should also be tech savy, and not look like a bulb is out, he should be quick witted and yes have a sense of humor. Craig has none of these qualities, does he even smile, can he? how about a laugh. Ugh! bring Brosnan back, heck bring Connery back, just please; no more Craig, what a waste of film. (A very insightful review of Bond 23's trailer on yahoo.com. This kid knows his onions).

Bond 23 has the words personal gain written over it. Babs seems to try to get away with what she did Pierce. If Bond 23 surpasses both CR and QOS (even by one bit, especially here in the US) and/or enters into a ballot of high profile movie awards nominations in the US, I'm done with the traditional Bond. BJ.....we need more Rebels, and like I said, it'll take more than just Katniss, Avengers, the Bat, vampires, and Middle Earth folks to to destroy the Death Star II (Bond 23). Asides from these guys, what/who else do we have? We got Madagascar 3 and Prometheus this weekend and Brave and Abe Lincoln Vampire Hunter next week. Before the Bat's round 3, we got Ice Age 4. A week after the vampires make their entrance, Rise of the Guardians releases in theaters. On the same day as The Hobbit, Les Miserables releases in theaters. After The Hobbit, Tom Cruises' Jack Reacher enters the scene on Wednesday the 21st of December. And on Christmas, we got The Great Gatsby and Django Unchained. In fact, there's much more than just that.

BJ.....tell me that's enough for us to get what we want for Christmas, meaning Bond 23 is off the top 10 list (especially here in the US) and not listed in the ballot for high profile American movie awards (not even the technical category)

Do not worry FBF. Scott Walker won his recall election and Oh-bama will lose his and DC will bomb the same week in November.

Bond 23 being bombed at the box office is one thing. Not being placed in the ballot for high profile American movie award nominations is another. We need more Rebels, not only on the big box office returns side but also award nominations side as well. Take The Great Gatsby and Les Miserables, for example.

Hannibal Lecter would be better on HBO surely?

NBC is remaking The Munsters  Are they crazy? Nobody replaces Fred Gwynne as Herman. Another bankrupt idea by the morons at NBC. http://tv.msn.com/tv/article.aspx?news= ... d=ansent11

Yep. It'll be really tame, whereas if the show was on HBO or Showtime or Starz, they would be able to get away with a lot more, including language and violence.

Oh and as for the Munsters..I might watch one or two episodes(which is probably how long it will last :P ) more for Eddie Izzard than anything else.

The Munsters idea, is a bad One, I'd predict this will be one of those shows that only
gets a couple of airings Before being cancelled.
Some things should be left alone, Like the Bond series.

It has been remade once before, The Munsters Today (1987-91), which ran 73 episodes in syndication. It had John Schuck as Herman and Lee Meriwether as Lily. It was syndicated and didn't run on network television.

However, that version was still a half-hour comedy. This new project is a one-hour drama. I'm having trouble imagining how that's going to work.

"Skyfall"
With M (Judi Dench) watching through a one-way mirror, Bond simply says "done" in response to this name. 007 seems justifiably angry, as if he has been asked to do something that violates all his principles and ethics. It could mean that he is finally done with MI6, once and for all. "Murder"
007's response here was "employment," a fairly chilling answer. Killing is part of the job, as is personal detachment, but to see murder as routine casts a darker light on the Bond character.

of course! :D
I'm surprised Ale thinks $170 is a reasonable price for Snow White it seems like it should be a smaller budget it can't be that big a movie it going to be just about done after next weekend, it makes John Carter, CVA, Battleship look well budgeted.
Part of my observations were just sarcasm, but the movie is doing way better than those and it is action... it's doing remarkably better than anyone thought it would. So we'll see at the end, I think it will do fine.

You will be wrong on Garfield's Spiderman but what do you think of NBC's brainchild of rebooting The Munsters? NBC should fire everyone and clean house. Their shows are drivel and not watched.

I want to actually see the rebooted Munsters before I decide my opinion of it, though what I've heard about it doesn't sound promising (can't be worse than The Munsters Today, though..can it?)

My wife's favourite show, Law and Order: SVU, is an NBC show. Would you let that survive your purge, BJ?
