I am not sure what to think of our new 'Quartermaster' . Technology is a young mans game however I could imagine Desmond saying now pay attention this is how your new iPhone works, use this app for........

Not to be too critical of Daniel the shots of him on set do not look good, he looks a lot older from the way his hair is to whatever that is supposed to be on his face. His getup at the Press Conference I thought made him look old, maybe it was not the colour of the suit.

Wishlaw's a great actor..but it's an odd casting choice,I have to say. I think they could have gone with someone in their mid-40's-mid 50's(at the youngest!)

Coming from you, I would say this film looks as avant-garde a Bond film as you could get. If you and I both agree, Eon is doomed :!: I wonder what the Stocks-man thinks now?

I must admit from the set photos so far......DC does look quite a bit older, i dont like the real short haircut or his beard................he looks more like a Scandinavian than an Englishman. Those that dont follow the Bond news, are gonna be in for a shock when they see 'Skyfall'.

Hopefully there'll be some backstory as to why Bond has the short haircut..otherwise it'll just seem stupid.

WHAT!??!?!? this is a rumor, right? Or rather, COMPLETELY FABRICATED GOSSIP, right? Because if ANY of this is true I will go throw rotten eggs at both Babs and the director. ARE THEY KIDDING ME!??!? Moneypenny is a field agent named Eve that Bond tries to sleep with and then she becomes Moneypenny?!?!? WHAT?!?!?? :^o):

Agree on both counts. The choice is indeed bizarre, and I will INDEED dump this Bond any day for THIS Q. Which is just absurd. Craig does not look good, he does look older (or rather, older than the usual old look) but that's no news... the hair is just bad. It needs darkening and it needs to be DEFINITELY longer. I'm at a loss for words though because every single bit of news coming out is making my impression on the movie WORSE instead of better. This Moneypenny stuff better be UTTER BS, because if it isn't, I really am going to go throw rotten eggs at Babs and Mendes.

I still have yet to see the EON press conference in full, so I don't know if this Eve becoming Moneypenny thing is official. Until it's confirmed, I'm sticking with my theory that the journalists who originally reported that Harris was to play Moneypenny just don't want to admit that they were wrong.

It is sounding more and more like Moneypenny & Q Begins than Bond 23. I hope this Eve character is not Moneypenny, first off her name is supposed to be Jane Moneypenny. The way Naomie Harris talks about the job since she won it is apparent to me she thinks this is longer term than a one time Bond Girl gig. Ether that or she is a sad, sad person to invest so much in a one time job.

As a story tell the only way I can see for them to connect all of this is to eventually establish all of the characters are alias / legends used by agents. Fleming established the idea each successive Boss and Quartermaster is a letter, licensed assassin with OO. What I am afraid why are trying to establish with Skyfall is all of the beloved characters are legends, all agents winning the coveted double oh section with 007 have the name James Bond. This is the quickest way to kill the franchise, as well as the easiest way to explain away all the discrepancies between the Reboot and Pre-reboot stories.

He might be on to something. I think they want to put a twist on the 50 years the Bond legend. I am not sure the team they have is capable of pulling this off. Star Trek reboot had producers & writers skilled enough to pull it off, the James Bond franchise produced the finished product of Quantum of Solace stepping away from it like an artist who has every expectation of wowing us. Instead of art they are gave us a Cross in a Jar of Urine, not only is it blasphemous it is disgusting.

Can it be explained how in the 50th year of the franchises's history that Eon is producing a movie whereby Bond first meets Q and Moneypenny? What kind of lunacy has befallen Eon? What are we supposed to do with previous 20 REAL Bond films prior to Danielle's? Should we forget they ever existed? This is SHOCKING to the traditionalists who have been with the franchise for decades. To continue to have a 'pugilistic form of excrement' as Bond is insulting enough, but now to REWRITE the Fleming history of the major chararacters is totally UNACCEPTABLE :!: I thought of the same thing Jack my boy. This is copying the Star Trek reboot now and I know FBF will be FUMING over this. MP might have to calm him down in sunny California.

"I know this film isn't based on any of Ian Fleming's books, but still; what would Ian Fleming think about casting a black actress as Moneypenny? The character isn't someone you can reinvent. Casting the actress in a heroine/villain role would be more credible, but not this. I'm disappointed.

Bond is not worth saving. He's zombie now. What do you do with a zombie? Contain him and hope to find a cure for him? No. There is no cure. You shoot him in the head. What does this mean? Skyf*ckers must fail miserably, and this also mean failing to get nominations from high profile American movie awards (especially the Oscars). Otherwise, we're in serious trouble.

Is this Graham Rye who runs the James Bond International fan club? IF so he is a good guy, and has stuck by Bond during the bad times as well, i used to belong to the Bond fan club he ran, and he produces some excellent Bond magazines.

He knows Bond inside out.....................i remember him giving QOS a 1 out of 10 for his review for that film. When i read that, i knew we will in for a dud of a film!

After diverting away from the usual Bond ingredients in the last film in particular, EON seem to be trying to throwing them all back into the new film, but in a very mixed up sort of way!

I have to agree English Agent, I too was a Member of the club for many years and Graham Rye I feel is expressing the feelings of many Traditional Fans which Eon is leaving behind for the glory of a few new Fans who Really want Jason Bourne, thats why the producers are turning Bond on his Head.
Skyfall will be a lot of fun to work on for the Actors etc, as they all seem to know each other, their all LOOOOOVIES, And I sure they think they Know
how to make a Proper Bond film, after all those terrible 60's and 70's Bonds where soooooooooooooo Badly made.
It seems to get a part in Skyfall you have to either be a friend of D Craig or S Mendes.
I'm really glad to of read this this morning, as on some Forums you begin to think "Is it just me, Am I the one who is out of touch, Getting old !" so to read that
Graham Rye, a guy I know is a life long Bond fan is now pointing out "The emperor has no clothes" is great news and Bouys me up, ( I'll be in a good mood all day).
Even on some other Forums I think I can feel a change starting , I seem to be noticing more comments "not liking the new direction" and "worried about the new direction".
So lets hope they do a Halfassed Job on Skyfall ( trying to be too clever, for us plebs ). Just enough for them to get another Bloody nose, and get back to making a James Bond Film.

I'm glad a respected and respectable Bond fan is saying things as they are. This is beyond ridiculous.

Exactly. Star Trek has JJ Abrams, Roberto Orci and Alex Kurtzman and Damon Lindelof. Basically the best directing and script-writing group you can get in Hollywood these days (and despite being called in to fix the mess after damage had been done, Orci and Kurtzman didn't manage to fix the disaster that was Cowboys & Aliens). Bond 23? A director that's no doubt good but knows NOTHING about action (while JJ Abrams is the king of it) and script writers that would make anyone cringe, especially when paired with a BOND movie. Logan's got NOTHING to do with Bond. AT ALL.

LOL what should happen is in the final minute of Bond 23 Henry Cavill shows up and kills Craig's non Bond and says "you've tried to fool people long enough. Back to were you belong, fake 007. James Bond is back." Gun barrel and THE END.
"Are we on coms?"
