Isn't that kind of the flipside of that uniquely American optimism about the future that often powered the best of Trek, though? If he hadn't had that certain naivete, it's possible we wouldn't have got such taboo-busting elements as a Russian crew member aboard the Enterprise or TV's first inter-racial kiss either.stockslivevan wrote:When Roddenberry still had certain control he objected to the script because in his words "in the 24th century, children have a better acceptance of death".

Optimism has always been one of the admirable traits in Trek but then there's absurd stuff like that. Humanity will evolve throughout the years but no matter what an 8 year old child is never going to easily take the news of his only surviving parent being dead. Luckily the writers of that episode were able to work around that issue in a believable way by introducing an alien imitating his dead mother and its up to the crew to try to convince him he shouldn't go along with the illusion.Kristatos wrote:Isn't that kind of the flipside of that uniquely American optimism about the future that often powered the best of Trek, though? LOL well I always get certain thoughts when looking at Henry Cavill but that's because of how masculine and sexy he is
LOL come on now, I don't think he looks like he's gonna rape someone at all... I think he looks like an badass, determined Superman on a mission. And given what I've heard about the movie plot I'm not surprised, fits the story at the beginning of the movie at least.

Cavills face in that new shot kinda reminds me of the early covers of Pans paperbacks of Flemings novels, the drawings on the covers of Bond look very similar to Cavill.

You look at Cavill as Superman and vision a 'rape' mode? I look at Danielle as Bond and see an 'ape' mode. As Dalton says to Terry Funk jr. in the worst film of 1989, Roadhouse, "opinions vary". I am glad you are intrigued about Henry's facial expression as Superman. Here is a quick multiple choice quiz: Danielle Cr-egg's face and cranial capacity best relate to which of the following eras? 1) pre-primal 2)neanderthalic 3) mesozoic 4) missing link 5) almost human. Choose one and let us know your final answer. This-----is-----Jeopardy!stockslivevan wrote:Someone pointed out that he looks like he's from a Superman porn parody. This is gossip of the really worst kind BUT if it's true, as a woman who CANNOT stand cheating in any form, well SATSUKI has ALL my respect. And, she did it the Bond way

It's a dark picture, for a reason I'd imagine. Same reason Craig's face is always in a shadow I do hope the costume is a little brighter although this looks some idiot threw a safe at him and annoyed him.stockslivevan wrote:Just saw the first image of Cavill as Superman.
I was really hoping for brighter colors but it looks a lot like the darker costume from SR, except with a bigger S symbol. I hope it's just the photo. My big issue with SR was the desaturated murky look. Superman should be bright, bold and colorful. It shouldn't have the same scheme as a Batman film.

I KNEW you'd appreciate that one BJ! I have no idea whether the report is accurate or not but it probably is seen as it's so specific and after such a long time... she ROCKS! Cheating men deserve this and worse, so... I guess at this point that she WOULD fit right in herebjmdds wrote:Get this Satsuki as member here at once. Put Goldeneye on the case. You know what if it happened the way she says she deserved a lot more. Going off to work then after work going off with essentially his mistress is not up to Representative Anthony Weiner standards. If true I truly do think less of Craig for this.Alessandra wrote:I KNEW you'd appreciate that one BJ! Re: The BJMDDS General Discussion Thread......
I agree on this. If this is true (no idea whether it is, but given it's being revealed so much later I tend to think it is, why even bother now? If it was fake, they could have made this up long ago when the impact would have been way bigger) she did deserve that and a lot more. And if Craig did this, regardless of what I think of him as an actor, he does suck as a man. Cheating is the one thing I can't get over in a relationship. It's for cowards. Stand up and tell me you want to see someone else and break up with me. Not to mention the disrespect and the fact once that happens, trust is gone forever. So if this happened, well he sucks.Dr. No wrote:You know what if it happened the way she says she deserved a lot more. I did wonder how Satsuki Mitchell, had taken to Criag leaving her for Rachel Weizz......now we know!
I must admit DC has gone down in my estimation as a person in the last year.
Well............back to the film world...........Whats the news on the new Apes film in the US?..........is it good?
Anyway, i'am sure it will top this coming weekends chart......i can also see C&A plummeting.
Potter still going strong in the States, and film gets huge boost tomorrow as its released in China....that will please 'FBF'....$1100 MIL coming soon worldwide.

Satsuki, comes across as More of the Character of Bond rather than Craig who come across like some Highschool Bitch.

Errrmmm...I think that could become a double-edged sword. The focus would shift away from Craig's deficiencies as Bond and more towards his deficiencies as a human being.katied wrote:It'd be great to have Satsuki here as a poster..the stories she could tell,I'm sure...
