Sam Worthington too famous

Post by mcbride007 »

Sam Worthington is one of the favourites to be James Bond# 7. I have also read many views that he is too famous after Avatar like Christian Bale was after Batman. Would he turn down James Bond now?

I hope Eon ask him to be Bond in the next few months so we can see if he would take the role.

I wouldn't have a problem if Sam Worthington was a future James Bond.
The only problem at the moment is that Daniel Craig is still under contract for another two films. So unless they can work something out with Sam, or get Craig to forfeit his contract early I'd say the wait for Worthington is going to be to long.
By the time Craig hangs up the shoulder holster Sam is likely to be to big a star, and out of EON's reach.
Stand up Henry Cavill, you're time in the sun is getting closer.

It don't think anyone is out of their reach only out of their limited grasp. Sam would be great!

I don't think Worthington is quite there yet. He hasn't proven to be an A-list box office star yet. Can you really say he's as big as Avatar? It's just too early to tell. If his Titans flick performs well then he might be getting somewhere. So at this state he's not a big name, so he can still get the role if he doesn't get any bigger.

I'd like to see Sam in the role when Craig finishes his run.

How big is Christian Bale after Batman, though? The role didn't do a whole lot to raise Michael Keaton's or Val Kilmer's profiles, and I've not heard that much about Bale outside of the Batman franchise. All the Dark Knight talk was about Heath Ledger that I remember.

Maybe Christian Bale could replace Craig?

Worthington only 5'10" at best. Height a problem, unless they use smaller actors. Other than that, he would be fine and should have been considered before Craig for CR. It would have made a huge difference in the reboot with a younger looking Worthington, who will now star as Perseus as well.

Oh come on. Camera angles, shoe lifts would do the trick, it's been a tool since the invention of photography. It's like calling Sean Connery's hairline a problem, just give him a toupee and he's ready. Is everyone else still touchy about this height thing? Worthington and Craig are only a few inches below 6f, nothing dramatic.

Craig's lack of height is exacerbated by his little arms though. I'm not sure if Worthington has that added problem. He's probably too famous anyway. He seems to be in everything at the moment.

won't just about any actor be too famous. It's all different now. Face book twitters, If they want another unknow actor they'd have to go very young just starting out but then who knows if they can handel it.

IMHO Sam is getting ahead of teh pack too soon.

Is he really that famous, or is it the films that he's appeared in?
Terminator Salvation, Avatar a.k.a. Ferngully for adults, and the yet unseen Clash Of The Titans.
I wouldn't call him A list just yet.
Not really got anything on his resume that makes me think...future Bond. Other than having a look of a young Pierce Brosnan.
Though looks aren't everything.

He does resemble Brosnan in a way, albeit more ruggedly.

Easy stocks. You'll get some knickers in a twist by dissing the Brosnanator on here.
He could do pain face like no other Bond. And straighten his tie.

That's a good question. His Avatar co-star,
Spoiler
Zoe Saldana
, has also appeared in Star Trek and Pirates of the Caribbean, both massive blockbusters, but I wonder how many people could even name her without clicking on the spoiler text?

The other favourite Henry Cavill is not that famous. I've only seen him in The Tudors on tv.

I wouldn't want somebody too unknown. Lazenby was the least experience actor they hired for Bond and he didn't work out very well.
