Sam Taylor-Johnson isn’t shading her answers when it comes to rumors that her husband, Aaron Taylor-Johnson, could be the next James Bond. Speaking on The Johnathan Ross Show, she talked about the flurry of talk surrounding a possible 007 nomination for her other half. Sam Taylor-Johnson was the Fifty Shades of Grey director.

“You mean that I might direct a Bond film? The first woman director,” she joked before adding, “Carry on speculating. He’d be great.”

Interesting. She could have shot down the rumours once and for all, but chose not to.

"I don't like ATJ at all and he has quite the punchable face. Also I just can't get over his voice. It sounds like he went female to male and it got stuck in the middle. Happens a lot. From what I have read online in general is that by far most comments are negative towards him. Both men and women find him too soft looking and a far cry from the spirit of Bond."------this guy is jousting with a bunch of them yet he has not been thrown off the forum yet.

There are more factors to ATJ why I don't like him as an actor, let alone Bond. Those two merely stand out the most.

All due respect, BJ. I don't really care what they have to say over there, whether it be about this site or their opinions on Bond. If I did I'd go over and read it myself. All you're doing is giving them satisfaction.

In 2022 Mendes said:" I think that the actor playing Bond is going to evolve, the director has to evolve. I think it would be wonderful to see a woman directing Bond. I think it would be wonderful.”.......with the latest statements by ATJ's wife now, who knows what Broccoli might be plotting if this is her choice of new actor.

From what I have read I believe Aaron will be the next Bond and have deposited 10p at the bookmakers.

I actually think that makes it less likely that his wife would direct, for the same reason that many employers try not to have couples working too closely together. You don't want employees bringing their domestic disputes into the workplace.

It was definitely a good Friday for Legendary and Warner Bros with more walk-up business than expected as Godzilla x Kong: The New Empire posted a $37M first day (plus $10M previews) putting on the path to a $75M opening weekend. Per Comscore/Screen Engine’s PostTrak, 57% of the audience bought their tickets same-day. There is a path to a bigger weekend, so it won’t be shocking if it hits $80M. Also, the sequel nabbed an A- CinemaScore, which is the second best CinemaScore for a Monsterverse movie after 2021’s Godzilla vs. Kong, which was also directed by Adam Wingard.

I enjoy all Kong movies. Since 2015 when Spectre was made, there has been ONE Bond film yet THREE Kong films made over the past 9 years, in 2017, 2021, and now 2024.

I have the 1960s version recorded. Special effects then vs. CGI now. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=IH5f0nmkyio

I remember seeing it on TV as a kid. Haven't watched it in a long time, though. I suspect it's probably one of those films that's best left in the memory.

Image Image Image If this guy IS the new Bond, and at this point it would look foolish if he wasn't, will the internet also complain that his choice by Broccoli is pure racism too, further alienating another segment that she counts on?

There probably will be some people on the Internet whining that she should have cast a POC and/or woman. But EON can and should ignore them. Those people are a tiny minority who don't even necessarily buy movie tickets.
