There's a warning message at the top of the screen saying this board is disabled, so let's see if this post works. If it does, then I think it's safe to assume that others can ignore the warning.

What? I Think you can do this because you are a moderator. If not the disable board button is broken.
Seems like the updates have worked, we rebuilt the database to our new server this is way the board was temporally down again after the new server move. If you all notice any missing post I can redo the migration.

Once again

The dark tower was #1 last weekend but man what a sorry showing, $19 million of course the budget is at $60 million so they might break even if the overseas bo is good .

Dunkirk is still holding strong, Spider-Man is slowly dying off, looks like it'll beat amazing Spider-Man 2 in the us but maybe not worldwide totals. The king is the Spider-Man trilogy even though spidy 3 went off the rails

I could not get onto the forum again all morning. Now suddenly I can. The above message appeared on the screen each time. Broccoli's 'fem-bots' are at work here screwing up getting onto the forum. I can access the main front page just fine. It's ONLY the FORUM access that suddenly has issues for the past 7 days.

Maguire's trilogy was the best and Garfield the Cat's version started the demise of the series on film.

Annapurna's Detroit had a tough weekend. Kathryn Bigelow's latest struggled in its nationwide expansion, pulling in an estimated $7.7 million from 3,007 theaters for a $2,411 per theater average. Expectations heading into the weekend were a performance in the low teens, but instead this performance is much closer to that of Free State of Jones, another adult drama that debut in the summer last year and managed to only bring in $7.6 million in its opening before finishing with $20.8 million for its domestic run. Audiences did agree with critics (78 on Metacritic), scoring the film with a strong "A-" CinemaScore, but with an opening like this it's unlikely word of mouth will be able to keep it around for too long................. Wonder Woman needs less than $500k to become the 27th film all-time to top $400 million at the domestic box office.

Oh, that's all right then. The database was being rebuild so it was not online and before that the web address was being moved to the new server so nothing would work.
New server is paid up for years to come, domains are prepaid for years, best of all is this server is much more powerful, at least for me it loads very fast. Once we are established better the main site will move to this server as well.

about to jump to your aid because McGuire was only so-so but Nicholas Hammond's Spider-Man series was awful. He was sort of the Roger Moore of marvel ;)

tbp82 wrote:While, in many ways that Craig killed the franchise for some on this board his impact on the franchise is undeniable. We had Die Another Day love Brosnan or hate him it was a over the top fiasco in a time where The Bourne Identity was showing that a dark gritty spy movie could work. Craig came in with Casino Royale and delivered that Bourne Identity type of movie that none-Bond fans were clamouring for at the time. In many ways Craig and his portrayal of Bond saved the franchise and even introduced the character to a whole new crowd. Now I know some will say Craig wasn't playing "the character" and in many ways that's not wrong. But, Craig's portrayal of Bond has become the bond for none-bond fans which lead to financial success. Love him or hate him Craig's put his stamp on Bond and unless he does one more and it completely bombs (and I think if he does there's a good chance it bombs) his legacy as Bond is secure.

I'm afraid I have to disagree with you here tbp, Craig didn't save the franchise because the franchise didn't need saving. DAD is ether the 5th or 6th highest grossing Bond film of all time depending on whether or not your'e adjusting for inflation. I admit DAD went several "bridges too far" thus it is one of my least favorites, and the series definitely needed to tone things down a bit, that's part of the "Bond cycle". Unfortunately they threw the baby out with the bathwater. I get a film needs to appeal to a wide audience to make money, but you can't be all things to all people, you don't destroy a franchise to cater to people who don't like it, that creates just another generic action film. You need to hold on to some aspects of what defined the character to begin with. Look at it this way, think of Bond like a shrub, if it gets wild and overgrown it needs pruning to look attractive again, but at some point you need to stop cutting or all you'll be left with is a bare root. You can't strip away all that made Bond "Bond" and still call him Bond.

Kater23 at one point had a leaked copy of the CR script written for Brosnan she lost when her computer died, I'm sure there are copies still around eon didn't like that version being out there so it's really difficult to find. But the pint is they didn't need a reboot, they said they needed to update bond for the 9-11 world I can't tell you what real impact 9-11 had on bond, and dad was post 9-11 babs seems to forget this. What was real was Bourne it got praise in the right circles and babs wanted in. Bourne can't touch bond for BO, yet they wanted a older version of Jason Bourne, and their own Batman begins.
What they got was four disjointed movies as disjointed as the Bourne franchise makes, although not quite as stuck up as Matt Damon and greengrass .

Last month, the British actor was confirmed to return as the spy in the long-running series' next film, however it was believed this was just for one more outing.

However, reports state that producer Barbara Broccolli is keen to bring Craig's 007 tally to six following his roles in Casino Royale, Quantum of Solace, Skyfall, Spectre and the forthcoming Bond 25 that will be released in 2019.

A source reportedly told The Sun: “There was plenty of talk about who would be the next Bond but Barbara has managed to talk Daniel into two more films. :hair: :Bonk:

“He is loved by audiences around the world and has driven a real resurgence for the movies at the box office, so bosses knew they couldn’t lose him just yet.”

Despite no official confirmation, Christoph Waltz and Dave Bautista are both expected to return as villains while Naomie Harris (Miss Moneypenny), Ben Whishaw (Q) and Rory Kinnear are all set to return. The Sun is reporting that "while work is scheduled to begin on the 25th film next year, discussions are centering on a possible remake of 1969’s ON HER MAJESTY'S SECRET SERVICE for Daniel’s subsequent final movie."............how unoriginal.....this is a travesty :!: Five more years of this menace including the 60th anniversary film most likely as well? :cuss:

The sad thing is this ridiculous story is so plausible, Babz has committed the first sin of Bond production, believing the star is bigger than the role, if Bond could survive the loss of Connery, it sure as hell can get by without Danny! If true, and that's a big if, it goes to show just how out of her depth Babzy is! All that said this story reeks of straw grasping. No real authority sited, simply naming actors who were in the previous film as returning, and no way Dan comes back for two films unless they offer all the gold in Fort Knox (that is unless he finally figured out nobody else wants him)!
