The talk of beer "replacing" the martini I think is a bunch of hooey made up by the press! Bond has already drank beer anyway (more in the novels than movies) so I don't see any harm.

Also remember that Casino Royale's teaser had no humor either, but the theatrical did. I believe Skyfall will be in tone with Casino Royale (which Mendes loved) but the humor won't be the main focus, just icing on the cake like Connery's films were.
