Re: Bond News Of The Day Thread

It says it all Dirty one. She emasculated Bond and empowered the feminine influence in the storyline, unlike what Fleming envisioned for his creation. As Fleming said "these books are for red blooded heterosexuals not for schoolboys" Ironic as this quote was used in the documentary "Everything or N...

Re: Bond News Of The Day Thread

Came across this the other day taken from a Naomie Harris interview on the London Evening Standard: "I’ve heard rumours that I’m going to be out in the field," she teases, "but I haven’t seen a script. Knowing Barbara [Broccoli, the producer], she’s all for women’s lib, isn’t she? She’s extraordinar...

https://www.youtube.com/watch?feature=player_detailpage&v=jcdhyaP0T7g In Ancient Greece 1200 B.C., a queen succumbs to the lust of Zeus to bear a son promised to overthrow the tyrannical rule of the king and restore peace to a land in hardship. Re: Just bought the 2014 edition of Maltin

I completely agree with Barry, Maltin is a good review factory he hasn't met a movie that he didn't love and I imagine a little marketing money in his pocket didn't hurt! Add to that all the artsy fartsy people involved with this travesty and the reviewers fawn all over it.

Re: The BJMDDS General Discussion Thread......

"I feel like Skyfall is one part of a continuing story," she said. "It needs completing and it needs the same storyteller." It's funny I could have swore it was said the next 2 movies would be connected and shot together and not be a continuation of Skyfall, and yet here Naomie says it's continuing ...

Re: What was wrong with seeing an older Bond?

That's an interesting point, and when you look at Moore in that film compared to Craig in Skyfall, Moore doesn't look too bad. I've wanted to post pictures of Moore in LALD and Craig from SF to point out those two men are the same age (45) at those times in their lives, unfortunately I'm not tech sa...

Re: Is Skyfall the Worst Bond Movie?

EON and Babs don't want to put any effort into their movies. They want to slap together a generic action/Bourne rip off and shoe horn a few references to the older Bond films and call it Bond. But what it takes to make a classic Bond movie is effort, it takes effort to stay true to the source materi...

Re: Is Skyfall the Worst Bond Movie?

Since Babs took over there has been a steady stream of references in the Bond films. They started out as a sort of wink and a nod until DAD when they went overboard, with CR she dialed it back, but then ratcheted up again with QOS and peaked again with skyfall. As i have said in another post these f...

Predictions For The Next Movie

What predictions do you have for the next film? I know it's a little early but I have one. I read "Moneypenny" (if you can call her that) would have a larger role in Bond 24, now that Mama M has been killed off, they need someone to micro-manage dullard Craig's Bond in the field, I predict that will...

Re: Blond = Ugly?

I never had a problem with Craig's hair colour (if Rupert Penry-Jones was in with a shot at the role, i'd give him a chance). My problem is with Craig being such a dreary, monotonous actor, imho. And, to be fair, it's not just Craig, but his era as a whole. It's so far away from what I want from Bo...

You made some excellent points and I felt the same way. However after watching FRWL for the billionth time last month I realized Blofeld/Specter knew what Bond looked like the entire series. They have a photograph of him to show Tania, Kronstien knows exactly who M will send "Their best agent James...

The U.K.-based Jamie Dornan was first revealed as a contender for the role of kinky billionaire Grey by THR on Oct. 14. He is the star of the U.K. series The Fall and might be best-known to U.S. audiences for playing the Huntsman in ABC's Once Upon a Time. Born in Northern Ireland, he's a former Ca...

Re: Is Skyfall the Worst Bond Movie?

The follow up is rumored to be more like the Bond we are used to. The ending of this movie kinda got my hopes up for that imo I felt the same way when I first saw it, for about 30 seconds, then I remembered who we're dealing with. My personal prediction is they will throw a few obligatory bones to ...

Wow, Babs doing a Snowden biopic! Well she's had plenty of practice over the last 6 years making movies about a cross-dressing, homosexual, traitor who hates the west!

R.I.P. Tom Clancy

As a former Submariner myself I found his books very technically correct and so did the Navy which is why they had to ask him to tone it down as a few real life technical specs found their way in to some of his novels!
