Re: The BJMDDS General Discussion Thread......

Has anyone read "Forever and a Day"? I just finished it and here are my first impressions: - This is how you do a Bond prequel - I hate the term "origin story", Bond was newly promoted to Double O status but he is still recognizable as Bond - Horowitz is not as descriptive a writer as Fleming, you d...

Heres's an interesting site that shows that charisma and style never get old.

Re: The BJMDDS General Discussion Thread......

Spent last night sitting outside watching "The Spy Who Loved Me" on our outdoor movie set up ( I have been abandoned by my family for the weekend!). With a nice bottle of red wine (a Spanish garnacha) and a couple of good cigars, it was the perfect way to wind down the summer. A couple of thoughts a...

Re: Dirty Benny's Weekly Rant

Of all of Brosnan's films DAD is the one I rewatch least. That being said, the 1st third to half of the film, essentially from the beginning until after the sword fight, it is actually a great Bond with a great self assured performance by Brosnan. In thinking back however, I realize that for all of ...

Re: SPECTRE box office

My local BestBuy has already dropped the DVD price to $15 and the Blu-Ray t0 $19. Not really a sign of confidence! In comparison, Captain America: The Winter Soldier, has been the same price (About $25) since it was released on DVD/Blu-Ray.

Just watched Captain America: The Winter Soldier again today. That movie had the energy, style and drama mixture that I want Bond films to have.

ID 2 looks like its gonna be a smash hit. Didn't think much to that trailer for the new Star Trek though, that music seemed very out of place, doesn't give off any excitement! Anyway, i'll be off to see SW7 later this week. I think the trailer looks great. And the music is a callback to the music K...

Re: SPECTRE reviews (spoilers!)

Have you noticed for all the talk of Craig being a more human believable Bond, he's the only Bond to exhibit superhuman strength. In QOS he had that ridiculous scene where he locked a guy in a closet or bathroom by breaking off a steel door handle as if it were nothing. In Spectre, he easily breaks ...

Bond Mondays to start Oct 27

For those of us lucky enough to live in Southern Ontario, CHCH begins Bond Mondays on Oct 27 and even tho I own every Bond (except QOS) on DVD I will be watching. Maybe because it was how I was introduced to Bond as a boy, or a reminder of the Bond marathon a local channel ran every December when I ...

Re: Craig's Bond doesn't have a heart, says George Lazenby

I always thought that you could see Brosnan's Bond calculating each and every move he was doing. Watch his eyes flick around in the pre-credits scene of Goldeneye. And I'm sorry but growing up as Bas***d Irish lad is going to Mae you tough. My grandfather was the toughest man I ever knew and he was ...

Re: Craig’s Post-Bond Career? Flat. Very Flat.

Brosnan's career is doing fine. I think we may want to start comparing him more to Michael Caine than Connery. If you look at all the films he had been in since Bond the reviews are starting to show that he has the same effect on a film that Caine does, or even Christopher Walken and that is that wh...

Irony-man » Fri Apr 08, 2011 7:58 pm I just watched GoldenEye again the other night and I mean I actually watched it, I didn't just have it on in the background while I worked or surfed the net. I had forgotten how serious a film it actually is. Yes there are some instances of humour but for the mos...
