Re: The BJMDDS General Discussion Thread......
It certainly does Stocks! Been AWOL and still at the 'other' sites? I don't regularly visit Bond forums anymore. Since the olde Keeping the British End Up was nuked, it hasn't really been the same. Bond and Beyond came close, but that fizzled out. I've given nuMI6 a shot when SPECTRE was abound, bu...

Re: The BJMDDS General Discussion Thread......
Just popped in to say Happy 10th Anniversary for CASINO ROYALE.
The site may have been utterly wrong about CR becoming a flop and rejected by audiences and fans, but the site is still here, so that's something. Cheers.

Re: Oh-bama
On the contrary. The deal isn't based on trusting Iran to follow through the deal and pretend everything will become stable. That would be foolish. We froze their money to cripple them to a point where they cried "uncle" and thus we're happy to give back their money, as long as we have a large prese...

Re: President Trump?
Trump is a lunatic. I always thought it would be amusing to see Santorum lead the party, but Trump is truly turning this whole election into a farce. That said, feel the Bern. that was how I felt at first but the chosen candidates are bush and Clinton. I'd rather elect an amusing baboon. You're kid...
Re: Oh-bama
Obama has made a lot of bad decisions over his tenure, but the Iran deal is the big winner. Republicans crying about it like babies are only going about that because their party has been ordered to oppose Obama on anything , regardless of whether it benefits the US or not. They don't want Obama to s...

Re: US Presidential Election 2016
Nah, Bernie's got this one in the long run. Hillary will play it tough like she did against Obama in 2008, but inevitably she'll lose again.

Re: The Man From U.N.C.L.E
This was a nice fun lark. Wish it did better at the box office, but it's a heavy competition and Mr. Cruise ruled the spy genre for the Summer (which I enjoyed as much as this). Only thing I didn't like were the musical choices. Didn't feel like songs that naturally fit the characters, rather Guy Ri...

Re: The BJMDDS General Discussion Thread......
There hasn't been a script leak since CASINO ROYALE's because EON made it a policy afterwards to put drafts into the shredder. This explains why the original script for BOND 22 has never surfaced in any fashion.

Re: The BJMDDS General Discussion Thread......
The car is more appealing than this entire cast of chosen actors. Really, BJ? I can understand your hatred for Craig, but the rest of the cast? That's stubborn. Once again you show yourself to be predisposed to hating anything that has anything to do with Craig's films, regardless of whether there'...

It was TOMORROW NEVER DIES, and given that the role was for Paris, she would have been wasted in it anyway.bjamesobrad wrote:wasn't Brosnan pushing to cast Bellushi for TWINE?

Re: Press conference live thread
Would you argue DR. NO and GOLDFINGER were unimaginative titles just for being named after a villain? I think the point of titling it SPECTRE is to get buzz going that Bond will be facing his most iconic foe in 40 years. Kind of a contrast to SKYFALL being an initially secretive title.

Re: The BJMDDS General Discussion Thread......
VOY and ENT suffered a lot because of constraints by the network they were under. UPN wanted them to basically be like TNG, and as a result a lot of them felt like rehashes of what came before that it added to the staleness of TV Trek. ENT did improve a lot once UPN started to let the writers do the...

Re: The BJMDDS General Discussion Thread......
Fair enough. I think only time will tell on how well modern incarnations will be relevant in the future. I'd argue that TNG qualifies as being culturally relevant. It may not be the originator that TOS was, but it still holds a pretty big audience. The fact that it gets most views on Netflix of all ...

Re: Star Trek: Into Darkness Discussion (spoilers allowed)
Excuse me? The Craig films rarely miss an opportunity to sneer at the older Bond films. Bond films giving a ribbing to past Bond films has been a thing since the 60s. The series has always had the capacity look at itself in the mirror and laugh, even the Craig films at themselves. At least Abrams h...

Re: The BJMDDS General Discussion Thread......
He's likely talking about today's culture, as opposed to the grand scheme of things. All three incarnations are very popular at this time, something I'm sure most of Britain is proud of. Outside of the UK, Dr. Who has grown very popular here in the states to the point that I gave it a shot. I don't ...

Re: Brosnan: My Bond not good enough
It's really all about timing. Brosnan entered Bond at a time when EON became very timid about doing the things he would have preferred taking the series to. It's all because of how negative the reaction to LICENCE TO KILL was. That was their attempt at really shaking things up, it backfired, so they...

Unlikely, since they already did a 4K remaster years ago and that's what the first blu-ray was based on.Omega wrote:There is a new release for the 50th too. Is it a newly remaster or the same as the bluray?

Re: The BJMDDS General Discussion Thread......
Steve Moffat mentioned our favourite thespian. (Slightly off-topic but talking about Sherlock, Moffat said he didn’t have too many jitters about reintroducing a beloved character in such a modern way, but there was a moment when his new version of Doctor Who was about to come out in the same few mo...
