Native Brits do the best theme songs. The popular artist like Madonna, Chris Cornell, Sheryl Crow, Jack White & Alicia Keys did not get what makes a good Bond theme.
Goldfrapp & Portishead would be my top choices for new Bond song artist.

Re: 007 could get Bollywood-style makeover
I do not think you get where I am coming from at all. I see where a fan such as yourself would not be happy with the reboot. I also see where it worked, and maybe it wasn't true to Bond or Bond in the truest sense, I am not going to bother arguing the intentions of the author, movies or Books with y...

Re: Next James Bond Now Likely To Be Sam Worthington
The next Bond will be whoever Barbara is fond of in her social circle and feels like jetting around the world with for several years. Looking like James Bond will have nothing to do with it. I do not think there will be a lot of room for her to be picky. To my mind they will have to go back to the ...

Re: 10 Actors Who Passed on Movie Roles
Raiders, Dr. No and Terminator may have worked with other actors. But they are so psycologically linked with those iconic roles that any other actor in them is unimaginable. Who would have played The Terminator in place of Arnie? An unknown? I am not so certain they would have. True about them bein...

Re: 007 could get Bollywood-style makeover
QoS made more in the US and the UK on its opening weekend than any previous Brosnan Bond film's opening weekend. The figures dropped dramatically afterwards, due to bad word of mouth. CR on the other hand started slowly, but maintained a steady growth throughout. DVD figures also did very well. Thi...

Re: 007 could get Bollywood-style makeover
I was using Transformers in terms of making money while being rotten. I wouldn't have to look very far to find critically acclaimed money making lemons. But I'd rather not look. QoS was clearly rubbish and it made money. I can only conclude that it was the strength of the franchise pulling it throug...

Re: 007 could get Bollywood-style makeover
Both QoS and DAD suck. Neither should have earned more than a penny. Couldn't they say the same for Casino R. Why did it make any money at all? Was it because it was so good or was it because it was there? Are Transformers 1 & 2 are cinema classics? I think not. So maybe there is a case to be made ...

Re: 10 Actors Who Passed on Movie Roles
10 for 10 those actors would have sucked in those movies. Will Smith at least has the honesty to admit it. Connery would have been painfully bad as Gandalf the gay. Christopher Lee wanted the role of Gandalf, but had to settle for Saruman. Shame, it would have been interesting to see Lee play a "go...

Re: The BJMDDS General Discussion Thread......
Likewise mate. I know how you feel. I loved LTK, then hated every movie churned out under Brozza's reign, and then fell in love with Bond again when CR came out. But I knew deep down it would be too good to last. I thought at the time CR would be a one-off fluke, and they wouldn't be able to pull i...

Re: Your choice for Bond in Bond 23
George Lucas should have hired other people to direct as he did with the original trilogy. After the criticisms of The Phantom Menance I think he felt he had to redeem himself instead of handing over the next two. There are plenty of directors out there who could have done a better job than he did....

Re: The BJMDDS General Discussion Thread......
Personally speaking, I would only really be happy with Bond 23 if the script relied heavily on exhausting the still unused Fleming material from MR, DAF, TSWLM, YOLT and TMWTGG. Anything else would be a disappointment for me. One of the reasons why I loved CR so much is because it used the source m...

Re: The BJMDDS General Discussion Thread......
Not exactly. :? The "shocking plot twist" can mean only one thing: The Austin Powers-ization of the Bond films is probably happening. It could mean almost anything. As evidenced by the fact that only the other day, you were saying that it definitely meant that M was going to be killed off, which do...

Re: The BJMDDS General Discussion Thread......
What do you mean you cannot see how they can get back to the tone set with CR?? It's not rocket science. Decent script, (we have a decent writer on board now), decent director (let's hope it's someone like Sam Mendes), and also QoS as a guide of what not to do - and hey presto! A decent Bond 23. Yo...

Re: The BJMDDS General Discussion Thread......
I think the producers and Craig are aware of the complete opposite reaction Quark got to CR. Rumours are Craig was not happy at all with the reviews of QoS, and so I think they will be very careful with Bond 23. I'm predicting a return to CR territory, with bits of the old formula thrown in for goo...

Although I understand why some would be upset by such a radical change in Bond. Me, I am in the vast minority who thought CR was very good Vast minority on here, yes. But you are in the vast majority outside of here (among the other Bond forums). Also, the global reviews of CR were mostly very posi...

Re: The BJMDDS General Discussion Thread......
IMO a lot of here do not get what they were trying to do with CR which for what their intention was worked perfectly. I think we all know exactly what they were trying to do, namely: 1) Go back to a more down-to-earth style of Bond movie after the over-the-top DAD (which I agree was probably necess...

The studio heads in face to face meetings were asking Brozza to come back a scant few weeks before Eon announced the seasick darling object of Bab's affections. At the time Brazza told them that it was not up to him, i.e he was willing to come back and he did in fact keep he schedule clear enough t...
